Absolute Training and Nutrition started offering small group personal training over 8 years ago. We aimed to rebuild the traditional approach to Personal Training by designing a unique Small Group Training Program for our people who needed a coach but also loved working in groups, all delivered from our state-of-the-art gym in Barnstaple.  

Training in a group of 6 or fewer, with the guidance of a Personal Trainer during your sessions, you are guaranteed to receive the most tailored and personalised Group Training Session available in North Devon.

Our Small Group coaching program is for clients of all ages, fitness abilities and starting points. With the ability to deliver a client centred approach within a group setting means you can achieve the results you want, receive the attention you need even in a group setting. We can ensure you will achieve the transformational results you are looking for.

Walking into a commercial gym is daunting! We know how intimidating it can be to see everyone on the gym floor working out and looking confident, particularly if you're feeling lost, out of your depth and instantly unmotivated.

That doesn't happen here at Absolute.

LEARN TO LIFT

If you are interested in training for rehabilitation we have highly experienced and skilled coaches who can work with you.

We will assess your physical abilities and liaise with your Doctor or Healthcare Provider (with your permission) to prescribe the correct exercises to accelerate recovery.  

We will educate you as to the hows and whys of each exercise so that you learn how your body is rehabilitating. This combined with our sports massage therapy is an unrivalled pairing of services.

I used to train with absolute years ago and always loved it, just recently in the last few weeks in joined back up and I'm so so happy to be back training with them ... I suffer really bad with anxiety so for me to feel comfortable somewhere is a struggle, but they are very welcoming, friendly and iv never felt more at ease walking into a gym ! At Absolute Training & Nutrition, our clients are our only focus and achieving personal transformations is what we show up every day to achieve!

For those looking for just a gym, we are probably not what you are looking for.  What we offer is so much more than a gym, because we are results-driven, centred on measurable goals and personal transformations.

Established for over 15 years, we know what it takes to help our clients achieve their goals. All that we ask is that you show up, be your best and commit fully to the program, and you will be sure to surprise yourself with what you can achieve at Absolute.

We are all trained in fitness education and have years of experience, however, we are also normal people who understand what challenges normal people face when starting out on a significant lifestyle journey.  Together we will help you to see amazing results and develop a newfound level of confidence.

Our PTs are here to support you. We want you to succeed as much as you do, which is why we will check-in with you weekly, as well as be reachable to answer any questions you have. Your weight loss journey can be an emotional one, so we’re here to provide you with everything you need to make it as easy for you as possible.

Small Group PT is perfect for clients who are looking for a professional and personal coaching service, to meet personal goals and receive motivation and accountability, and who like to train with like-minded people.

With no more than 6 clients per class, Small Group Personal Training gives you the accountability, knowledge, skills and support to excel.

No matter if you are a complete novice looking to build confidence or a regular gym goer or exercise class member, SGPT provides a personalised exercise plan that will match your fitness level and challenge you to be your best in a safe and supportive environment.

Every journey is different and all personal results will vary depending on a number of environmental factors.  By this, we mean your personal goals, your availability to train, your previous and current body composition, how disciplined you are with your nutrition plan etc.

To give a very broad idea of what results could be expected from 2 sessions per week following all of our advice, you could expect to see:

Week 1/2:  Your strength and stamina have improved.

Week 3/4:  Clothing should be fitting slightly differently.

Week 5/6: Fit3D™ Body Scan showing significant composition changes.

Week 7/8:  Significant changes in your body shape will be visible.  Let the compliments commence!

Please note that we cannot guarantee any specific results until we have assessed you and your goals.  If you would like us to advise you on what personally could be achieved, please ask an Absolute Personal Trainer when you come in for your first assessment and we will be happy to advise you.

Measuring your progress in terms of fitness has always been a huge challenge.  Tape measurements can vary depending on who is doing the measuring and if the same position on the body is being recorded exactly, electronic scales shift and will not always be 100% calibrated and selfies are near on impossible to take at the same angle, with the same lighting and from a front, side and rear view.

But fear not!  We have the solution, and it is available for you to use as part of your program at no additional charge!

For over 10 years we have been the only facility within 61 miles of Barnstaple that have a state-of-the-art 3D body scanner from Fit3D™. This amazing piece of equipment will measure and weigh every aspect of your physique showing gains and losses in all aspects of weight, body composition, water retention, posture and much much more.

The Fit3D™ is a real game-changer in terms of measurability and we are delighted to be able to provide our clients with this amazing insight into how your body is truly transforming in response to your commitment.

Small Group training is the most flexible group training option available at Absolute.

We have a schedule of SGPT classes that run throughout the day and so there will always be a group available for you to join, no matter what your work schedule, childcare schedule or social calendar looks like.

Flexibility is the most important factor of personal training.  We are not here for us, we are here for you.  Life is busy, things disrupt our day to day routines, we understand that.  But we will not let that get in your way.

Small Group PT  sessions last from 45 to 60 minutes from start to finish.  

As this is a group session it is essential to arrive in good time so that all of the group are able to start together.

During our SGPT sessions, your coach will work with all 6 of you together and individually to ensure that exercises are performed safely and at the correct level of intensity.

We make the most of our 60 minutes together and your coach will be at hand to offer advice, tips and tricks during your session should you have any questions regarding your program.

We exclusively provide a personal service, which means we are here for you when you need us.  We are not a gym with 1,000 members, we look after clients who are just like you, who have goals and objectives and who need us and our support.  This is what we do!

You can text us, contact us via social media or send us an email and one of the team will get back to you asap.  

We also conduct regular check-ins, and so even if you don’t reach out to us, we will be reaching out to you.  You are our priority and we are here to cheer you on and pick you up whenever you need us, and even when you don’t.

As long as you are comfortable and able to move with no restrictions, you are free to wear any workout, exercise or fitness-based clothing you choose.

Many clients wear a hoodie to do the warm-up and commence their training, and this can be useful for when you have finished your training session during cool down and when leaving the gym to keep your muscles warm.  Otherwise, a t-shirt or vest, jogging bottoms, leggings or shorts are all perfectly suitable.

For new gym-goers, we understand how intimidating it can be to feel that you may not have the right uniform, look as good as you think a gym-goer might, or may feel self-conscious wearing slightly form-fitting clothing.

Please take our word for it that you do not need to feel this way at Absolute!

We are not an open gym, we are a private training facility for Personal Training only.  All of our clients are exactly like you, have joined for the same reasons you have and you will fit in perfectly!  We promise.

We understand that for many, budget is a deciding factor and we will work with you to find a solution that will give you the results you want within a budget that you can afford. 

Withing your SGPT membership, you not only gain all of the experience, knowledge and support of our fully qualified PTs, but you also have access to our Fit3D body scanner, nutritional planning and advice, accountability and complimentary gym access.

Because we are not an open gym facility, our prices may appear to be quite expensive, however, when you compare our services to that of a traditional gym membership providing Personal Training, our costs are incredibly good value for money.
