  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 500g lean beef mince (5% fat or less)
  • 400g tin chopped tomatoes
  • 200g passata
  • 6 tbsp tomato purée
  • 1 tsp dried mixed herbs
  • 1kg potatoes
  • 160g reduced-fat Cheddar cheese, grated -Optional
  1. Pre-heat the grill.
  2. Heat the coconut oil in the frying pan. Add the potatoes to a pan of water and bring to the boil.
  3. Cook the beef mince until brown. Add the onions, chopped tomatoes, passata, tomato puree and mixed herbs.
  4. Once the potatoes are ready, mash them up in to a fluffy mash.
  5. Pop the mince into an oven proof dish and then spread out the mash on top evenly. Add the grated cheese on top.
  6. Wait for the cheese and potato to go crisp on top and then remove. Let it stand for a few minutes and then serve.
